Southern California Golf Association Launches “Celebrities In Golf Carts”
“Celebrities in Golf Carts,” a new web series from the Southern California Golf Association, launches today on celebsingolfcarts.com. Two episodes debuted upon launch, with four more coming as part of a six-episode season one.
“Celebrities in Golf Carts” is a golf and lifestyle series targeted for the sports and entertainment enthusiast of any age, where host Mark Willard plays golf with stars from the world of sports and entertainment, mixing in casual conversation and entertaining anecdotes before wrapping up with a brief competition and a beer. The series’ format, which asks for a minimal time commitment from the viewer, allows for personalities to shine from both the celebrities as well as Willard.
“We’re thrilled to launch Celebrities in Golf Carts, a web series that really appeals to the recreational golfer in a non-traditional way,” said Kevin Heaney, the SCGA’s Executive Director. “The series allows us to provide unique content to the Southern California golfing community, while leveraging our Hollywood and entertainment connections, as we spotlight several of our well-known SCGA members. This series showcases the true social nature of golf.”
The two episodes available now feature Kunal Nayyar of “The Big Bang Theory” and actor/comedian Rob Riggle. Upcoming episodes, which will be released weekly over the next month, will star comedian Brian Baumgartner, actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar, actor Haley Joel Osment and baseball legend Nomar Garciaparra.
Willard is the host of the “Mark Willard Show” heard nationwide on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio app, as well as a columnist for the SCGA’s FORE and plusFORE magazines. Mark has been on the radio and television airwaves since 2001. He hosted his own show weekdays on ESPN LA and has appeared as the lead fill-in host of SportsNation on ESPN2 and currently appears as a frequent guest on NBC’s Going Roggin, Time Warner Cable SportsNet’s Top 10 and Fox 11’s Sports Report. Willard has also appeared on The Golf Channel, NBA TV, Fuel TV, & ESPNLA.com.
