Bubba Watson and Oakley Introduce the World’s First Golf Cart Jetpack
To celebrate golf’s return to the Olympic Games – 112 years in the making – the team that brought you the revolutionary hovercraft golf cart technology is proud to introduce a brand new innovation: the first ever Golf Cart Jetpack!
A two-time Masters champion and currently one of the top five golfers in the world, Bubba Watson is known for pushing the boundaries of golf. Three years ago, Bubba and Oakley teamed up to create the world’s first Golf Cart Hovercraft. For 2016, we wanted to make history once again by taking innovation and performance to the next level. While Bubba’s Hover enables golfers to traverse any terrain, Bubba’s Jetpack allows golfers to literally fly across the golf course.
Finally, golfers can see the course and their game like never before with a unique bird’s eye view of every hole as well as the freedom to fly easily from location to location in any environment without restriction. It’s almost an unfair advantage.
The BW-Air is equipped with a bespoke rotary 210 horsepower engine that allows it to climb as high as 3,000 ft with air speeds up to 46 mph. It also has all the features of a typical golf cart, including space for clubs, sand bottle holders and everything else you need for a great round.
While Bubba's Jetpack will enable golfers to see what they've been missing on the course, athletes from around the globe – Bubba included – will have a similar experience while competing in Rio. Oakley athletes will be wearing the limited-edition Green Fade collection, including frames with a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted finish and the latest Prizm™ lens technology. Like Bubba and his Jetpack, they too will have an unfair advantage over their competition.
After three years of collaboration with Martin Aircraft Company, the world leader in jetpack development and commercialization, Bubba and Oakley’s shared vision to create the most technically advanced golf cart in the world is ready for the world to see and experience. Martin Aircraft’s technology has been in development for 25 years by a team of designers and other experts from around the globe.
Before flying the Jetpack, proper training and certifications are required. Pricing starts at $200,000, with availability to purchase in a variety of colors beginning December 2017.
